Our commitment

Essential Care Plus is committed to making essentialcareplus.com usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Conformance status

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means most content meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML throughout: headings in order, landmarks, lists, tables.
  • Color contrast checked: body text 7:1, link text 4.5:1 against page backgrounds.
  • Keyboard navigability: all interactive elements reachable, focus indicators visible.
  • Alt text on every product photo and editorial image.
  • Form labels associated with inputs; required fields announced to screen readers.
  • Skip-to-content link at the top of every page.
  • No motion-triggered content; no auto-playing audio.
  • Clear, plain-language wording in checkout, returns, and policy pages.

Known issues we are working on

  • The product image lightbox uses a pinch-zoom interaction that does not yet have a keyboard equivalent, being rebuilt.
  • The wholesale quote form’s CSV upload field is not yet announced to screen readers, being patched.
  • Some older Journal posts predate our alt-text policy; we are filling these in as posts are revisited.
